Happy birthday Aryssa! She just turned 6 months old and that means, ready for weaning! 🙂
How exciting! We secretly have tried twice before this but she wasn’t ready at that time. We gave her mango puree the first time then apple puree last week the second time. Now after hours of google research on weaning, only we have some idea of how to introduce solids in her diet. Currently we just started her on baby rice mixed with breastmilk and she loves it! She’s also excited and I guess the familiar taste of breastmilk makes it easier to tolerate. Today is the second day we gave the baby rice and I’m getting the hang of preparing it. yesterday was too runny hence the baby rice tends to get everywhere BUT the mouth haha.
Ive already bought the Annabel Karmel recipe book for weaning and it should arrive sometime next week. This week we’ ll probably stick with baby rice then maybe next week can continue on to pureed veggies or fruits. Tomorrow we’re going to shop for the baby blender and steamer and the freeze pots as well.
Hi..I am Nura from Malaysia, currently living in Cardiff, UK, pursuing my Masters degree in Cardiff University 🙂
Living here with my husband and little family, enjoying being a mother, also a postgraduate student.
I have always been interested in blogging ; being an avid blog-reader myself, just because I found it interesting.
Blogging is better than private journal because in future, if I look back 5-10 years later, I can see my progress in future and how I have changed for the better. and maybe, my baby could also look back and read what mommy’s ideas and feelings when she was pregnant ;).
For this blog, I will write about my personal life mostly, things that I enjoy; cooking, fashion, travel (although now it is on halt due to current circumstances 🙂 )
I would love to connect with people all around the world, especially those sharing the same interests.
If I blog successfully throughout 2014, I would hope to continue blogging and hope my blog could be as popular as some of the ones I am currently being loyal reader to. 🙂
Happy valentines day!:) my husband surprised me with balloons and my favourite famous amos cookies instead of chocolates as I hate chocolates. It was really sweet, i had no idea. 🙂 Such a sweet husband..Thought we were going out for lunch then when I opened the car door there were the balloons and cookies.:D. Awesome husband and the surprise was a success!
Baked tilapia with salad and potato wedges
For dinner we decided to go to marche, a Switzerland themed restaurant based on Swiss markets, it was one of my favourite places to eat. I especially love the mashed potato 🙂 it is quite chunky and they only use fresh and original ingredients which is healthy.
However it was closed early so we had dinner at a place called The Apartment which is designed like the insides of an apartment. It was decorated with love balloons and all romantic for valentines for tonight :). Sadly the prawn capellini was too oily and I felt dizzy after first bite (probably due to my pregnancy). So instead I ate baked fish for dinner which was delicious, topped with cheese and with its fresh salad side, I totally wiped it clean.;) definitely will be more tasty if they have put some dressing on the salad though.
For the chinese new year celebration, my inlaws decided to have a korean bbq party. It was such a fun event; we came early to swim and enjoyed the jacuzzi first then later in the evening only we started the grilling.
There were lots of marinated meat; chicken, beef, sausages.. Which we ate with kimchi and sushi rice rolled up in lettuce :).
We ended the day with fireworks and sparklers then all of us watched the Grammys together 🙂
It has been about 2 months since I knew I am pregnant. My husband and I was super happy when we realised I am pregnant. :).. My mom was the happiest of all as she’s so excited to have a grandchild hihi. These past 2 months been amazing. My tummy has been showing slightly – the baby bump :). Such an incredible experience! Thankfully my morning sickness is not that bad. Just occasional nausea here and there. Cant be on laptop too long or else feel sick, cant smell strong perfume; I have stopped wearing strong ones and even my husband too. My sweet husband stopped smoking the instant he knew I am pregnant :). The happiest moment! well second happiest :)..
Initially I seem to be glowing during the honeymoon period. Then this pimples just started appearing :(.. Blame the hormones..Thankfully, I changed my skincare routine and just about to enter my second trimester, my skin started to behave again :).
My appetite initially was enormous..and changed too..I have been craving just white rice with chicken or fish dishes. I actually forgotten that I have to eat healthy food only during my pregnancy lol. So after hearing advices, then I forgo my snacks and instead snacked on fruits or bread. Now I tend to cook my own meals as meals outside sometimes cause me food poisoning.
Earlier in my pregnancy I actually had 2 episodes of bleeding. Spotting to be exact. Not really the fresh blood, just brownish staining with some tummy cramps. Really got me worried. Hence my off work for 2 months. After being resting in bed completely, the bleeding stopped.
My energy level was so low during the early period of pregnancy. Even climbing down the stairs will cause me breathless. Sometimes dizzy too. However now just about to enter my 2nd trimester, my energy level seems to climb back up which is awesome! 🙂
The first time seeing my baby on the scan machine with the hands and feet; all actively moving just touched my heart. :). Now I cant wait for the baby to get bigger and bigger and just feels awesome enjoying my pregnancyhood. 🙂
